Namaste, and welcome! I'm Saima Altaf, your guru, mentor, and a dedicated yoga teacher with over 20 years of experience in guiding individuals on their journey towards a balanced and fulfilling life through the practice of yoga mindfulness and reiki healing. My path to becoming a yoga instructor was not just a professional choice, but a deeply personal one that transformed my life in ways I could never have imagined.
I started practicing yoga at a difficult moment in my life, trying to find a method to calm down and get in touch with my inner self. I happened into a yoga class in my neighborhood, and after only one practice, I was hooked. I had never felt anything like this before—the body-mind connection, the feeling of tranquilly, and the emphasis on breathing. Initially a personal exercise, it quickly developed into a passion for assisting others in going through this life-changing process.
I have practiced many different forms of yoga over the years, such as Hatha, Yin, and Ashtanga, each of which has its advantages and teachings. To develop a well-rounded practice that nourishes the body and the soul, I combine physical postures, breath work, meditation, and mindfulness in my teaching style, which is holistic. Regardless of age, skill level, or experience, I believe yoga is for everyone, and I'm committed to making my courses inclusive and accessible.
My classes offer a friendly and encouraging atmosphere where you are free to explore your practice at your own speed. My mission is to assist you in finding the resources you require to accomplish your own objectives, whether they are to improve flexibility, decrease stress, gain strength, or just take a moment to stop and breathe. I advise my pupils to pay attention to their bodies, respect their boundaries, and live fully in the now. I often attend workshops, retreats, and advanced training sessions to broaden my knowledge and maintain motivation as I work on developing my own practice. I am especially drawn to Ayurvedic food, trauma-informed yoga, and yoga therapy since they enable me to provide a more individualized approach to my students' requirements.
Seeing the wonderful effects that yoga has on people's life is one of the biggest pleasures of being a teacher of yoga. My pupils' commitment, development, and readiness to push themselves outside their comfort zones inspire me daily. Being a part of their journey is an honor, and I am appreciative of the chance to help them discover contentment, harmony, and equilibrium.
